SCHOOL BASED THERAPY


  • Phonological awareness and literacy are strengthened in small group sessions for children who struggle with receptive and expressive language.

  • Individual sessions for students with severe speech sound (dyspraxia or phonological) delays.


  • Screening speech and language skills so that schools can refer students requiring extra help.

  • Augmentative and Alternative Communication and visual communication systems for children with Autism Spectrum or students with intellectual disabilities.

  • Team-teaching and collaboration to build upon teachers’ existing skills and to add to their knowledge and use of oral language strategies in the classroom context.

  • Parent education sessions (e.g. information and education regarding language learning and reading with children) can be included in your school’s selected service.


  • Free teacher education and training service available for schools on request for those enquiring about Speech and Language Therapy.

Introductory Professional Learning Seminar:


Find out how a Speech-Language Pathologist can work collaboratively with your staff to enhance the comprehension and expression of spoken language for students from Kindergarten through to year 6.


Identify students with receptive and expressive language delay to refer for Speech Pathology assessment and treatment.


Learn strategies to support and enhance students comprehension and expression of vocabulary and grammar in the classroom context.

Advanced Topics:


Robust Vocabulary Development - how targeted vocabulary selection and specific and explicit teaching can build ownership, awareness and student knowledge of academic vocabulary. Relevant for students from Kindergarten through to Year 6.


Grammar Matters - Enhance spoken and written grammar in words, sentences, paragraphs and text. Building spoken sentences for written expression.

Planning paragraphs and text.
