SCHOOL BASED SPEECH PATHOLOGY SERVICES

AllSALT provides on-site speech pathology services for individual students during the school day, with sessions scheduled in collaboration with classroom teachers to integrate seamlessly into learning.

With over 80% of the curriculum reliant on language, AllSALT connects therapy goals directly with classroom outcomes, helping students to access the curriculum, engage in classroom discussion and enjoy communication time with peers.

Individual Student Support

We offer goal-oriented, one-on-one support tailored to each student’s needs, including:

  • Receptive language – understanding instructions, classroom content, and reading comprehension

  • Expressive language – developing vocabulary, sentence structure and story-telling

  • Literacy development – reading and spelling skills, transferring spoken language into written sentences and paragraphs

  • Speech sound development – helping children use age-appropriate sounds to be clearly understood by teachers and peers

  • Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) – assessment and implementation for students with autism or intellectual disability

Where applicable, services can be funded through the NDIS or other support programs, ensuring therapy aligns with the student’s individual goals and educational outcomes.

All interventions are individualised, evidence-based, and classroom-informed, with regular communication between therapists, teachers, and families.

Whole-School Services

In addition to individual therapy, AllSALT provides whole-school support, including:

  • Kindergarten speech and language screening

  • Screening for students in Stage 1 and above to identify emerging needs

  • Small group interventions for language and literacy development

  • In-class consultation and teacher collaboration to support strategies within the classroom

  • Professional development and staff training on oral language strategies, communication support, and inclusive classroom practice

These services are designed to support teachers, learning support teams, and school leaders in providing a consistent, evidence-based approach to language and literacy development across the school.

Working in Partnership with Schools

AllSALT works closely with educators, learning support teams, and families to ensure therapy is practical, educationally relevant, and integrated into daily learning. We value strong, collaborative partnerships, tailoring our services to each school’s unique context.
